Barrelhouse-Victoria

In the photo, Barrelhouse circa 1990 Dave Harris Gary Thompson and Clark Brendon "Barrelhouse was a band with more than one history. We used the name twice. It started out as a short-lived busking band with Gary Thompson on drums, Clark Brendon on bass and vocals and myself on guitar, harp and vocals. The material was mostly blues based with a bit of Western swing and honky tonk from Clark. I think it lasted two seasons (summers of 89/90) busking on the causeway. We used amps and PA, this is before the outlawing of amplification. "The second incarnation of the band started in 1993 I believe. The late Michael Williams hired us off of the street to play at Swan's Pub, as a Celtic band, which we weren't; I played a few fiddle tunes with Clark and Mike Nitchie on bass.
